Summertide

from $27.00
Most shorelines in Lake Havasu are typically: muddy, covered in shells, and sand. This particular shoreline I discovered has a semi-hard surface. This image was captured on my second visit to it. I wanted to take advantage of the colorful sunsets our rainy 2022 monsoon season had brought us. When I first got to the shoreline my lens was fogging up from the humidity. I took my time trying out different compositions before I settled on this one. I loved how the sunlight was lighting up the tips of this grass growing on the semi-hard surface. My foggy lens cleared up as the sun got closer to setting, and I was able to capture this scene. Summertide is an old poetic word means summertime. I find it fitting because tide is associated with water. Though there is no “tide” on a lake, the water level had risen a noticeable amount compared to the previous day.
